The Academic Success Center (ASC) at North Florida College contains the Tutor Lab and is part of the Learning Resources Department, located inside the Library (Building 4). The ASC exists to provide all NFC students, regardless of academic proficiency, the help and support necessary to ensure successful completion of studies and programs.
ASC Services
Utilize the dropdown menu (left) or linked icons (below) to learn about each of our in-person and online/virtual services, all available at no cost to NFC students.
Get feedback on your writing from ASC staff & peer tutors, typically within 24 hours on business days.
Work with an NFC student who has taken your class. Appointments preferred. See their approved subjects and hours on the peer tutor schedule to ensure availability.
Get help from ASC professional staff either in-person or online/virtually via Tutor Match. Appointments preferred.
Even if the ASC is closed, get help from a professional tutor online/virtually via Live Help or submit a paper for feedback within 24 hours via the Writing Lab. Students have 240 free minutes of usage with this 24/7 Online Tutoring service.
Review upcoming tests (usually for math) with NFC staff.
We cover a variety of topics to help you succeed.
Our Jumpstart workshops are designed to give you a head start into the semester!
Study in a group facilitated by the ASC. Students can also reserve the Library's conference room for their own study groups.
Work with an ASC professional staff member on time-management, study skills, and more!
We've got the tools to help! Go through dozens of helpful handouts, weblinks, and other resources in subject areas such as English, Math, & Science, and even general study-skills like time-management and test preparation!
